In the article, “Different Ways of Seeing Species” by the NASA Earth Observatory explains drawbacks and benefits from using remote sensing data. The author begins to imply how remote sensing data can be beneficial to many researchers around the world. However, when the author elaborates how remote sensing can be beneficial they simultaneously use cons that outweigh their pros. …show more content…

Even before elaborating on the positive side of remote sensing data, the writer believes “there are still challenges [with using] satellite data effectively.” The writer is seen writing cons instead of expressing the pros in the first paragraph; as the composer starts their essay off with these drawbacks, it easily overpowers the benefits the author is trying to convey in their article. For example, “without proper validation, satellite data should not be taken at face value” Additionally, providing evidence on how the cons are overweighing the pros; which demonstrates the more the researchers are relying on remote sensing data the more the technology could be wrong without an actual person backing it
