In The textbook “Presidents and the American Presidency,” Han says that the key to running for president is to appeal to the voters who are undecided and to convince the partisan voters to come out and support their candidacy (Han 110). Examining President Donald Trump’s performance from the first presidential debate of 2016, show how President Trump met some of these things but also did not meet them all. One of the things a candidate must do is appeal to the base of their party, in this case the Republican Party. Some ways that President Trump did this in this debate was by addressing the topics of: lowering taxes, restoring law and order, and pressing Secretary Clinton to release her emails. During the presidential campaign then candidate Trump promised for a trillion dollar infrastructure plan. His plan which is heavily influenced through Keynesian economics is that flooding the economy with infrastructure projects such as the rebuilding of roads, airports and bridges would not only help improve the infrastructure of the United States but create a large amount of jobs. However because of the many large proposals on Trumps agenda this is in some ways taking a back seat to the more talked about issues. To prevent it from being kicked under the rug lobbyist from both unions

Through the use of logos, Hilary Clinton was able to overcome Donald Trump on the issue of improving the United States’ economy. Donald Trump argued that in order to improve the U.S. economy, the United States must force companies to stay in the nation and lower corporate taxes by over 10%. Hilary Clinton, on the contrary, stated that it would be more beneficial to the economy of the U.S. to raise taxes on the upper class, invest in the middle class, and increase spending in clean energy and infrastructure. Donald Trump spoke out, passionately, against Clinton’s position; however, Clinton cited many statistics, which favored her plan. Trump is concerned that Islamic terrorists based in seven specific nations are likely to infiltrate the Islamic immigrants coming to the U.S. The Constitution gives the president the authority to make an executive order to ban possible threats to the American public. In the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, and Article II of the U.S. Constitution, both support the president’s travel restriction as a use of presidential executive order.
Although President Trump faces nonstop criticism and a hostile news media which advances one false narrative after another, building their case against him with mostly anonymous sources, suggestive headlines and clever speculation, he carries on. The result? Among other things, the economy has improved greatly, there's a glow on Main Street and the stock market continues to soar to record highs despite rumor mongering and unproven innuendo from the "democratic resistance. " Numbers, however, tend to speak louder to Americans than innuendo.
President-elect Donald Trump has many goals for his time in office, including changing, what he claims to be only a slightly different form of the taxation system already being used in the United States. His goal is what he believes will benefit the entirety of the country, yet the people who will have the most change in the percent of taxes being paid will be the upper class, which will pay up to ten percent less money in taxes than they are currently. Although he states that the lower income population will be seeing a benefit as well, there is still a relatively small
Regardless of one's political affiliation, affinities, or orientation, there can be little doubt that the campaign, and extravaganza known as Donald Trump, is unique, unusual, and rarely, if ever previously observed. While Ronald Reagan had been an actor, he also was Governor of California, prior to ascending to the Presidency, and, in recent history (if ever), we have never seen any President, who held no previous public office. Conventional political wisdom has always urged politicians to use specific rhetoric, which while popular, avoided offending large groups of potential voters. Whether one supports this man, or not, all must agree that he is outspoken, and does not appear to consider who he might offend, prior to speaking. However, in
I agree with this article because it shows how Trump uses his fake character traits and fear/love to get what he wants from people. Also, how the majority of the tv news channels support him, by not showing any or very little forms of criticism of him, keeping his status high. The way the news article was reported was in my opinion, was very unbias, because the author took both sides of the stories and shared people’s opinions, making it more authentic and not tailored to one side. After reading this article, it makes me think, is the world moving forward or is it moving backwards in time? Also, are we living in a democratic society where we have a say who our leaders can be?
