Universals of Civilizations: Economics: In Gemtopia, citizens usually work as Gemifiers, Gem miners, doctors,geologists,fishermen or farmers. Gemifiers are the workers who cut the shape of the stone, clean the stone and categorize, as to what it is needed for. Gemifiers have a good amount of salary. Gems are mostly used as currency and jewelry. Although those are the main uses for the gems other non-frequent uses vary such as trading, religious purposes, etc. Gem miners are those who dig into gem mines to access the gems. Although this requires the most amount of strength and capability, gem miners don’t get paid as much as gemifiers, but they do get paid a decent salary. When gem miners do all the dirty work, many catch diseases, illness and fewers. For this there are doctors to help cure the gem miners. Geologists try to develop new technologies and research more about the Earth. In Gemtopia the soil is very soft, perfect for crops. To maintain a nice diet, farmers grow many different crops including tomatoes, coconuts, etc. Those who live by the coast in places such as Peridot Peninsula usually eat seafood. Gemtopia’s queen name is Queen Jewel. The monarch of Gemtopia is usually chosen through bloodline. The future king/queen has to be the age of 25 or older. Helping Queen Jewel is a small group of government leaders, consisting of mayors and county leaders. This group of government leaders also known as island council. Once the child of the Queen Jewel is 25, the ruler puts the citizen through a series of tests, determining whether the candidate is fit for the job or not.
