One example of a hero was Beowulf, he was generous, strong, loyal, brave, and honorable till the end. So, as Sir Gawain shared many of these qualities, it is concluded that the ones they do share, are the qualities that a hero must possess. A hero could be many things, however he has some specific qualities. First comes bravery, because a hero must not be cowardly. Let’s start with Beowulf. He is strong, he just picked up a big sword and sliced Grendal’s mom’s head off, after cutting Grendal’s arm off. Beowulf is ethical because, when he was a warrior he was willing to put his life on the line for the people that Grendal was killing. Even when he was king he was one of two people to fight the dragon. He went on three quests in the story.

Could the government drive our peaceful country to go crazy? In conclusion, the government should not be trusted, not just with our money, safety and education, but with our future children, and their children’s
King Arthur is a complex, double-sided character. In Le Morte d’Arthur, Thomas Malory shows Arthur displaying admirable chivalric qualities. But along with these prided traits, Arthur also despicable qualities through arrogant, un-respectable actions, that are quite the opposite of those identified with a chivalric knight. Thomas Malory displays the one King Arthur as a respectable, honorable, justiciable knight by listening to the opinions of his court at Camelot. Despite the fact that he didn’t make the best choice, he still showed courtesy and respect, while agreeing with Sir Gawain and marching on Lancelot’s kingdom.

To begin, the foundation of every government’s power has always been fear. Governments depend on public fear to secure societal position. Tracing back to thousands of years ago, governments relied primarily on conquests. The research author Robert Higgs argues, “Losers who were not slain in the conquest itself had to endure the consequent rape and pillage and in the long term to acquiesce in the continuing payment of tribute to the insistent rulers.” In other words, Higgs’s point emphasizes that the government violently conquested lands and hence attacked people living there in the old times.
Some may argue that the government should be strictly respected because they provide and protect our basic freedoms and needs. Others may disagree and state that it is appropriate to not only rebel, but overthrow the government no matter the condition due to a lack of trust and a sense of individuality that these defiant citizens feel they possess and must preserve. I feel that these two views are too extreme and that there is no sense in having too much or too little trust in the government. People should be cautious, and should not act unless there is a sense of intense corruption within the government which can be reversed through peaceful actions, brought on by voicing an opinion, even if it is not deemed valuable by the
Consequently, the most important concern for many officers deciding whether to join a coup conspiracy is their assessment of how many other officers will join (Geddes, 2004: 13). Military regimes tend to split when challenged, because military regimes are more likely to negotiate their own withdrawal and to democratize (Geddes, 2004: 6). Personal regimes are different from both military and single-party regimes, because on individual dominates the military, state apparatus and the ruling party. Personalist regimes rarely leave office voluntarily and more often end in popular uprising, revolution, invasion or assassination (Geddes, 2004:6).

In terms of subjectivity, Beowulf has human flaws that can be said to have led to his downfall, but he is also the perfect hero who exhibits only the proper values of an Anglo-Saxon warrior. The scop who wrote this story depicted Beowulf in only a positive intended light, as this epic is meant to be the warrior?s story retold, highlighting their great feats and accomplishments. This being said, a hero to the Anglo-Saxons only had faults if they were unfaithful to their people or greedy, and Beowulf displays none of these qualities. Beowulf only acts in accordance to what he feels would be best for his people, his altruism exceeding those before him, and setting a precedent that no other could reach. While it is possible to interpret Beowulf as a hero with faults, he was not originally meant to be depicted that way.
