Guilty or not guilty is an essay I have written based on a short essay by Naoya Shiga “Han’s Crime.” Here we will explore a topic which is difficult,we will have to determine if Han killed his wife delibertly or accidently. We will look at the pros and con’s of the situation we will weigh every aspect of this case. You will be judge and jury: because we have to determine if Han is guilty or not guilty. Let us begin with a little backgroung on Han,Han is a “Chinese Juggler”(214)who travels with a troupe of perfomers,who one day while performing:”severs his wifes carotid artery with one of his heavy knives in the course of a performance,”(214)killing her instantly. Han is then immediately arrested and taken into custody. Now we have to determine if Han did this delibertly or was it accidental. At the scene of the crime, we have the:”director of the theater,Han’s Chinese Assistance,the Announcer and more than three hundred Spectators and a Police Officer.”(214)They all witnessed the accident which we will call it for the time being.
