Illegal immigrants, or undocumented immigrants to be politically correct, to say the least, are a nuisance to society. Currently, there are 11.4 million illegals living in the US according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). All illegal immigrants are unlawful citizens because, “a,” they are in the country ILLEGALLY, and “b,” a person who would try to follow the laws of the country they weren’t suppose to be in couldn’t drive, couldn’t have credit, couldn’t have a place of residence, couldn’t have a job, etc; they could do nothing. Now, some people might say that they, the undocumented immigrants, add to society and that they are just looking for a better life, or that they add to the economy and pay taxes, however, you can poke thousands of holes in these arguments. Illegal immigrants put a major financial burden on the country they move into, and the crime rates spike in places that they migrate to. Illegal immigrants that come to the United States from any country, under the constitution have no rights, which has only a down side since law enforcement’s hands are tied when it comes to apprehending undocumented immigrants. Legally when an illegal immigrant is taken into custody, they now have the same rights that a citizen of the United States would have if they were being tried. However, if they …show more content…

Undocumented immigrants do pay taxes such as sales tax, property tax, and income tax. It is estimated that undocumented immigrants pay about $100 billion in taxes. Many come to the United States for a better life and better conditions for their families. In addition, many illegal immigrants take jobs that many people find degrading or jobs some people just don’t want to do. All the information the members of the media feed to the public make undocumented immigrants sound like model citizens (of course you would have to drop the “citizen” to make it a true
