Pros And Cons Of Marijuana Legalization In Canada

Marijuana legalization in Canada is the debatable topic and after the legalization in State of Colorado it adds more fuel to the discussion. There are pros and cons of marijuana legalization but from my point of view the disadvantages are more as compared to advantages. Therefore the demerits are the addictive nature; create more users and more health issues.
We all know about the abusive nature of marijuana and how does it affects human’s psychology. It makes people prone to a drug which does not work for the countries betterment. For instance the youth who are the future of country are becoming addicted to such drugs and legalization could increase these addiction cycles. The addiction could lead them to theft or doing illegal job in order to fulfill their drugs requirement. For example the drugs abusers often do illegal work simply to buy drugs. This makes them unsocial and detaches them from outer world. For example they may face ignorance from the social world and relatives due to their drug habits.
The legalization would basically endorse marijuana and invite many new users which will create a huge drawback. Furthermore, it will pass a wrong message to the future generation. Secondly, present concerns about the …show more content…

The side effects associated with marijuana are many. There is no known mechanism of the activity. For example it can create lung related disorder after long use. It has fewer side effects as compared to alcohol and cannabis, but still it cannot be neglected. There are many other alternatives of marijuana for pain and depression disorder, so it is not the last choice the physician can prescribe. The major effect is psychology it just takes human free will. For instance their logical decision making is affected drastically. Besides these the withdrawal symptoms are intolerable.
