The Stress of $15 Dollars an Hour California minimum wage is currently nine dollars an hour. In September 2013, California passed House Bill AB10, which approved the first minimum wage raise for Californians in six years (California minimum wage rate 2014). The interviewees that were in the middle stated, “I think it's both bad and good... bad because if they do, everything will increase as far as prices go... and good because well people will be making more money but just as they get money they will lose it quick on paying bills and buying food and for personal use... so there's a lot of con's and pro's to this issue (Jimenez).” “Good and bad, good because there is workers at burger joints that deserve a good pay. (Butler)” Also there were a few that believed that the wage should rise but not to fifteen an hour. “I think raising minimum wage is a good idea... To $15 is a bad idea. I feel like that's high to start. Because if a person gets a job and their starting wage is $15 there's no need to aspire to be anything but a burger flipper or fry cook or whatever. I feel it will make society complacent. Because most people aren't going to feel like they need to go past that entry level position. Yes, few are going to aspire to aim higher but that's very few. If people aren't aspiring while minimum wage is $8 an hour their definitely not going to if it's $15 I think 10 is a good raise, you want $15 for someone who has no marketable
