While it may not be a new discussion, there’s a lot of people that just do not know what Net Neutrality is or how it could disrupt their internet services. This is has been a hot topic discussion for the past few years but only reaches the media outlets when a change or possible removal is introduced. So the dilemma is does the Government hold the right to tell the internet what to do or should it only give a set of guidelines in which to follow. So what is net neutrality and how does it affect everyday consumers. Once all the jargon and crazy words are removed than will everyone be able to know and understand what net neutrality is. Net Neutrality is basically making the internet a utility and equal for the consumer to be able to use just like electric and water is a utility for a home. What it does is allows for the open internet to flow freely without stoppage or short falls. The most obvious pro to this debate would be making the internet data equal for everyone to use. That means the big internet service providers such as Comcast and Verizon could not block or slow down another service if it was not a part of their company due to the data being used. A con to this would be that company that uses up a lot of data to stream such as Netflix should pay extra for that extra data used at either the company level or the consumer level. The down side to this would be if these larger companies have to pay for that data service the consumer would also have to pay extra or worse a start-up company would be pushed to the side because they would not be able to pay the price tag that goes along with the
