This research has aimed to establish and then explore the causes of not beard and to encourage the fact of keeping beard. A man should wear a beard; a man’s face should be in its natural state, not using razors or expensive creams. A well-kept facial beard is what every man should have. Trend of clean smooth shaved faces is so much in trend that the wearers of beard are outnumbered by smooth faced men. Today’s men is brainwashed with intensive pressure to keep his cheeks smooth. Men get influenced by the commercial and different sorts of advertisements. Attitude towards man’s beard in the society broadly depends upon the points such as culture, religion, tradition and the ongoing fashion trends. Man is bound today by the advertisements he see on the television or the ads he get to know by various mediums to keep him clean shaved. Bombardment arrives in the form of commercial interrupting his favorite television show and telling him that how important the new techniques and process of Gillete or treat is to his wellbeing. He needs to get his face clean or maybe a smooth and coated edge which will not harm him and will make the shave smoother or will attract him? Perhaps he would prefer a device that plugs into socket and has spinning blades for his facial hair. How many untold billions of companies have made by keeping today’s man convinced that a beard is to be avoided in order from him to be accepted into society. How many times are you shown of beautiful women going after a man with smooth cheeks and the message doesn’t stop at the end of commercial break. Watch any prime time commercial drama or a reality program and what do you see? Rarely a beard in sight except for certain and objectionable causes of course. No beard on zindagi gulzar hai, no beard in bulbulay no beard in Pakistan idol. The older man used to wear beard while the younger ones were kept clean shaved, that was the main difference for them to categorized them in seniority and adolescence. Their famous Gods Zeus, Poseidon and the God of sea used to possessed beard while the young gods like Apollo, Hermes and Dionysus were without beards. Beard used to be a symbol of experience and intelligence for them. The 1st century A.D’s famous philosopher Socrates was characterized as The Beard Master for having healthy beard. They used to shave off their healthy beards in the mourning times. It was a sign for high class for them, which is why there are many significant Greek statues which are sculpted with fine and curly beards. Greeks desired to reproduce the image of their Gods who used to have beards by imitating the same huge beard styles. Hot tongs were used for the customization of beard and to give it different styles and patterns to make it look more beautiful. The Greeks used to view beard as image of maleness and machismo. Smooth cheeks were indicated as the symbol of feminism. Soldiers used to take extra care of their beards during battles, one of their famous tortures included cutting off the beard.
