CMMI is not a process but a model. It shows what is to be done and it must be applied rather than implemented. Pros: • Provides guidance for measuring, monitoring and managing development processes. • Provides guidance to enable informed and decisive acquisition leadership. • Provide guidance for those providing services within an organization and to externally. Six Sigma Six Sigma is a mythology used to eliminate defects in a process, product, or service. It calls for a continuous effort to get processes to the point they will produce stable and predictable results. Six Sigma uses 2 standard methologies: • DMAIC = Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control : This is used on existing processes. • DMADV = Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify : This is used when designing new Processes. In my opinion, The Plan-Do-Check Act would be the best to insure quality as well as the easiest to implement.
