The Nakba which was an exodus had beginnings in the Great Revolt. Seeing the Great Revolt and what it had done the British needed to act in order to preserve their own interest in the region. The British wanted to separate Palestine between a Jewish side and an Arab side.(Gelvin P. 237) But after this the British decided to anger the two sides to have them battle it out. They then said that if the Jewish community and Arab community were to begin to get along that only after 10 years would the Palestine region become independent. (Gelvin P. 237) But with angering the two sides that was not likely to happen.
