At least, that’s if you consider a 93-80 record with just one 10-win season over 14 years to be successful. Apparently, Nebraska does, as the Cornhuskers chose to hire Riley the same week they fired Bo Pelini. That hire happened to come almost simultaneously with Florida hiring former Alabama assistant and current Colorado State coach Jim McElwain.
One of the biggest stories of the 2016 season was the Dallas Cowboys' rookie backfield of QB Dak Prescott and RB Ezekiel Elliott. The two took the league by storm while propelling the Cowboys to best record in the NFC. However, were they really the best rookies at their position. Or were Eagles' QB Carson Wentz and Bears' RB Jordan Howard better? And most importantly, who was the best rookie fullback of 2016.
They end up throwing so many touchdowns against the Browns and the score ends up being 45-40 with a packers win and they made it to the super bowl. Then later that week they had to play the Dallas Cowboys to win the super bowl. It was the super bowl and it was the Cowboys ball and they ran it and a guy got smoked and flew all the way into the crowd and was out for the rest of the game. Since the guy that got injured was out and their best player the Cowboys then had no chance against the packer.
Aikman had his best season ever, completing 64 percent of his passes for 3,445 yards and 23 touchdowns. Dallas finished the season 13-3, won the NFC east division title, and entered the playoffs on a roll. Aikman’s performance in the super bowl against the Buffalo Bills turned out to be one of the best of all time. Showing a steady hand under great pressure, Aikman led the cowboys to a 52-17 thrashing of the Bills, who lost their third straight Super Bowl Game. Aikman won the game’s
Looking back on some history on the Dallas Cowboys since the ownership of Jerry Jones, it has been noticed that they have grown to become something bigger than just a professional football team. As state before, Forbes has ranked the Dallas Cowboys brand to be the not only the wealthiest sports brand in the U.S, but being the fourth biggest sports brand in the world (4). When looking at teams worldwide, Manchester is in 1st, the New York Yankees in 2nd, and Real Madrid in 3rd. All of these teams have a great foundation of fans that support them around the world and understand what it takes to be on top of the sports industry. All these three teams have unique marketing and sales tactics to get them in the ranks they are in today (4).
In the preseason the Rams starting quarterback Trent Green went down with an injury that would end his season. instead of going out and finding a replacement for the season Dick vermeil decided to stay with their backup quarterback, who would go down in history and his name was Kurt Warner (Swartz, 2010). Kurt Warner was a no name quarterback who previously worked at a grocery store and also played in the Arena Football League (Moraitis, 2012). Dick Vermeil trusted this unknown quarterback and it couldn’t have paid off any more than it did because Kurt Warner led the Rams to a 13-3 record that year by throwing for 4,353 yards and 41 touchdowns.

Their were going against the Baltimore Colts, after they finished the second NFL Eastern Division behind the Cleveland Browns. The game was not a pretty sight to see, losing 35-3, but it turned out to be the beginning of what turned out to be a common occurrence for the Cowboys going to the NFL playoffs. That following year Dallas began their season whipping their first four opponents. Out of those four games they averaged a 45 points a game. After that the league knew they were to reckoned with.
The Green Packers look like they are going to go to the Super Bowl this year with one the best teams they have had in a few years. Aaron Rodgers looks to lead them to a lot of victories this season. The Packers beat the 49ers today 17 – 3. When thinking about the 49ers offense even without Frank Gore, they are still one of the best offensive teams in the league. The Packers will probably go close to 16 – 0 this season and will probably being going very far into the postseason.
According to the “Many stores look at the pros and cons of being open on Thanksgiving Day” It states there are ups and down to being open on a holiday. Most people agree that an NFL game usually comes down to just a few crucial, defining moments of the game. This could also be said for the game on Sunday. It seemed the Patriots were merely non-existent on some of these principal plays. For example, with only about two minutes left in the last quarter of the game, the defensive end Brandon Graham sacked Tom Brady and stripped the ball. This caused a fumble that was recovered by the Eagles.
1991 was Irvin’s breakout season he had “93 catches, 1,523 yards, named the league MVP, and was voted to his first of five pro bowls” (Bethel, 2004). In his first pro bowl he showed more egomaniacal behavior while yelling at the other players on his team despite it being just an exhibition game. The 92’ and 93’ seasons were just as good as the 91’ season for Irvin but the seasons themselves were better for the Cowboys, both seasons resulting in becoming super bowl champions in back to back seasons. After winning his second super bowl, “owner Jerry Jones shocked the sports world by announcing the firing of Jimmy Johnson. Irvin, who was personally close to his coach, was livid and demanded to be traded.

This Thanksgiving I am thankful for my strong family. The reason I am thankful for a strong family is because, in the past year we have overcome some much together. Throughout the trials and tribulations we have encountered, we have managed to stick together. An experience I vividly remember was towards the end of last year when my Aunt was diagnosed with cancer. No matter what happened we remained strong, and refused to let anything break us.
