The Affordable Care Act is supposed to provide Americans with better health security by establishing health insurance reforms that will: • Provide wide coverage options • Makes insurance companies be more accountable • Lower health care costs • Give more choices • Provide a better quality of care for all Americans The law was put in place in March 2010 under the Obama administration. There have been many controversies over The Affordable Care Act. One of the biggest issues discussed is the soaring of premiums to people who make to much money to fall under The Affordable Care Act. Individuals and families have seen higher health insurance premiums in multiple states. It was mandated with restrictions on health insurers and providers that have raised health care costs and therefore premiums some believe. Some opinions of others are they taxed the rich and medical companies and used that money to subsidize the lower income insurance premium. People do want The Affordable Care Act repealed for many reasons.
