Restaurants have been popping up everywhere. Whether it is a family owned or a chained restaurant. One thing most restaurants have in common is that at the end of the meal a person would tip his or her server. Now some restaurants are getting rid of tipping. I feel tipping should stay. Servers still make minimum wage without increasing the price. As well as encouraging and helping out servers. Even if servers don’t make a lot in tips one day, the boss has to make up the difference. Which needs to add up to at least $7.25 which is the minimum wage (Cicely, Simpson). The problem with this is that the servers are nervous to ask his or her boss. Then there are other servers that had no idea they were able to get more money (Editorial Board). Which should not be the case, servers need to make a living just like everybody else. Another thing is that servers are able to make more in tips than they would on a salary (Passy, Charles). So if a restaurant is booming with people one day a server has a chance to make a decent amount of money. Now on the other hand if a restaurant is having a very slow day with little people coming in a server might not make much at all in tips. …show more content…

In an online newspaper article titled Tipping is a fine, $2.13 an hour is not, the editorial board says “Tipping will give servers more incentive to work for you and give you a way to reward good service.” So when a person is at a restaurant it makes the customer feel good giving a generous tip when the server makes an attempt to keep the customer happy. Although a person may get a server that they think isn’t doing a very good job and therefore won’t tip that well. Now the problem with people doing that is sometimes it may not be the servers
