The movie I chose to write my psychology review was on Girl Interrupted. The movie was based on the writer Susanna Kaysen’s and her eighteen month stay at a mental hospital, but the movie was directed by James Mangold. My reasoning’s for choosing this movie was due to the fact that it carried many psychological concepts to it. The movies main script revolved around Susana’s and with the crazy women in a mental institution. This movie had two main characters and they were Susanna (Winona Ryder) and Lisa (Angelina Jolie). Susanna went on basically hatting the mental hospital like she was forced to be there. Lisa then introduces her to Daisy …show more content…

She was sweet but had breakdowns when someone mentioned her burns or anything relevant to them. Yet Susanna met some of the girls by her self. The first girl Susanna met without Lisa introducing her to them was Cynthia. Her disorder was the funniest but will not be considered a disorder in todays practice, but her diagnosis was that she was a lesbian. Which basically meant she was attracted to other women. But we have to remember these events had taken place in the late 60’s. It was unusual for someone to be attracted to the opposite sex. Susanna also had met a girl named Janet Webber. Janet suffered and was diagnosed with Anorexia. Anorexia is an eating disorder which causes a lack of appetite for food. In the movie she was extremely frail and skinny. She was one of the least talked about characters. She was always upset when someone was able to leave the mental
