I grew up on the ideas of family, education, and hard-work. From the moment I could walk and talk, my parents instilled the importance of working hard to achieve your goals as well as taught me the value of education; they desperately wanted me to be successful and to chose a better future than they had. So I worked tirelessly throughout my years in school to prove myself, focusing on academics as well as community involvement, and as a result of my determination I will graduate in the top five percent of my graduating class with a perfect GPA for all four years of high school and be the first person in my family to ever attend a university. I aim to become a woman who can offer advice to people that truly resonates with them and to do work that has the potential to genuinely impact individuals, a group, or even an entire community. Becoming a psychologist is such an appealing career, it is rewarding in the fact that I will have the opportunity and ability to be a positive influence to people, and I know that by pursuing these goals I am seeking a life of satisfaction and gratitude. While college is the means of me attaining my dream career, I want it to be more than that too. One of my goals is to use my college experience as an example for my younger sister; I hope to inspire her to consider all of the opportunities that going to college can offer her in an attempt to guide her towards a bright future. My sister is capable of anything, as I believe all people are, and my ambition is to influence her decision when she is contemplating what to do after high school within the next few years by showing her just how much college can do to help her satisfy all her own life goals whatever they may
