My passion for Psychology has raised since I was a senior in middle school. As time passes by, my desire has not been faded, but it has increasingly grown stronger and stronger instead, with the extensive thrive to gain more knowledge about the biological perspectives of psychology, particularly in neuroscience. I am intrigued to explore how the brain involves in cognitive activities as well as its interaction with the environment. Thus, after transferring from a two-year college near Seattle, Green River College, I decided to continue my journey at the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign and dive into the Cognitive Neuroscience field and gaining further in-depth research experiences as a preparation for my higher education pathway. My research experience, regardless of time, is limited to six-month-experience since I started at my current institution in August 2016; however, this has motivated me enormously to look for more available research opportunities. Moreover, I also equipped myself with extensive knowledge by taking coursework that could enhance as well as extend my understanding on Neuroscience. Up to this time, I have been working with three labs with a variety range of interests, but mainly focus on neural activity; they are the Brain and Cognitive Development Lab with Dr. Hyde, the Neurotoxicology Lab with Dr. Eubig, and the Language Production Lab with my honor thesis’s advisor, Dr. Dell. Specifically, in Dr. Hyde’s Lab, I had the opportunity to operate the EEG/ERP (electroencephalography) to record infant’s brain activity to determine
