M2 - Explain the fundamental principles which have been applied to the designs I have created an interactive HCI which has a lot of colours, I have made sure the colours used don’t clash and that they are easy on the eye for everyone, so the black writing on the blue background can be read easily without any Struggle. The buttons down the left hand side of the page are perceived as being together because they are all the same size, they all rectangle shaped and the text is all the same size apart from the language changer as the text is too big for the box size.
When I had first approached this project, my first task was to define each of the words for more clarity as to what they meant and how they related to each other. After defining them, I decided to categorize every word plus an additional word in order to have 4 groups that all contained 5 words each. I admit that I am more of a categorical person, and group and placing things together has always worked out better for me. This part was based on my opinion as I group together words with similar themes or meanings or by how easy they could connect to each other. Simultaneously, while categorizing the words together, I was planning out how to make my actual map look presentable.
This project was a lot harder then my family and I ever expected it to be. At first we thought it would be good and we would feel better about not wasting and not having as much trash. But after a couple of days we noticed that we couldn’t do a lot of things we normally do like wipe our hands on a napkin or use a straw to drink at a resturaunt. We as a whole had to make a lot of changes like making our foods the night before and bringing clean towels with us everywhere we went. This project has really made us open our eyes to see what we were actually doing to hurt our environment just by going through our daily routine.
For this project, I decided to combine my love of drawing, baking, and nature in order to create a drawing representing my metaphorical journey. In this piece of artwork, The waterfall symbolizes my progress over the school year and how it has created multiple “rabbit holes” in which I have jumped in in order to get to where I am today. My journey, like when eating a cake, started out on the highest and smallest tier and ended at the largest tier on the bottom. Through this, you can see that as I went on my journey my horizons widen, there are more contributing factors to my life, and things get more complex, as well as a lot more interesting. Also, my development over the past school year is represented by the changing of the animal, as well as the habitat that is placed in on every tier as the journey progresses.
From the beginning of the foundation of America, men have tried to figure out the correct way to deal with law-opposing criminals. From crucifixion and slavery, to death by firing squad and life sentences, the world has utilized different forms of discipline. The death penalty has formed into the most questionable form of punishment, drawing the most attention from the public eye. This sanction is used to punish criminals for committing the most heinous crimes and offenses. The crimes that obtain the death penalty mostly consist of murder which include murder during a kidnapping, murder for hire, drug-related drive by shooting, and genocide.
The findings showed that society constructs a criminal justice system that scares future criminals off by making an example of those who commit it.” What this means is that capital punishment will marginalize murders. It pushes them to the edge of society so that they cannot commit crime again. Accordingly, it will eradicate and terminate the future threats of dangerous offenders who are inclined to bring to community while behind bar or after parole (Shepherd).
Social understanding of the punishment of crime Despite societal attitudes influencing political attitudes to reform laws, this has the potential to lower the morale of the legal system. This occurs when the media create negative social views with regard to current punitive justice procedure. In situations where the media act as a sole informant for society, societal understanding of the legal system could therefore be distorted as a result of its representation. Courts are usually open for public viewing and able to provide transcripts that highlight reasons for its sentencing decisions.
Throughout time, there has been a decline in the national use of the capital punishment. In “The Decline of the Death Penalty and the Discovery of Innocence”, Frank Baumgartner explains that the innocence movement is the most influential reason as to why there was a national decline in the capital punishment, and he believes that innocence is the driving force behind the decline. My argument is that, with the exception of some states, the continuation of the national decrease in capital punishment will ultimately result in abolishment. This paper will analyze the durability of the capital punishment and how different organizations or Supreme Court investigations will affect future policy changes.
It can be noted that the way one is punished is often unjust. “The fundamental purpose of sentencing is to…. have one or more of the following objectives: to denounce unlawful conduct; to deter the offender and other persons from committing offenses; to separate offenders from society” (Pratt, January 26th, 2016). Even though there is a fundamental purpose of sentencing most of the time, the crime does not fit the offender (Pratt, January 26th, 2016).
The death penalty has existed in the United States since its inception. Currently, the United States is the only English-speaking western nation to apply capital punishment with thirty-four out of fifty states utilizing this method of punishment to address crime. In fact, until the 20th century, death sentences were carried out in public, typically by hanging, to discourage others in the community from committing similar acts. Today, however, death sentences occur by electrocution, lethal injection, or exposure to poisonous gases and take place in private, most commonly in a correctional facility under the watchful eye of prison officials. The concept of the death penalty is to deter negative or undesirable behavior.

Society has different definitions for the word justice. Some believe that justice is fair treatment for someone who commits a crime, while others believe that justice is a corrupted system that purposely finds ways to ruin someone’s life. In law enforcement is justice actually helping society stay structured or is justice causing more strife between the people and the judicial system? First let us define what justice actually means. Justice is the process or result of using laws to fairly judge and punish crimes and criminals.
The death penalty, also known as the Capital punishment is the execution of a person through death and has been an ongoing practice since the eighteenth century. It has served as a punishment for severe crimes such as when a life is involved by murder or treason. This can be one of the most diverse and arguable laws because of it’s permanent conclusion. It’s unclear rule, also sparks contention on whether or not it is a brutal act of punishment or a socialized humane way of retrieving justice. Since many capital crimes and offences have prolonged to be a huge issue in the United States, Americans are now coming up with solutions to reduce crime impacts.
Emma Damare Professor Jones English 103 5 February 2018 Death Penalty: More Harmful than Helpful The death penalty has been around causing problems for decades, starting before the 1800’s and still creating issues today. The only people who gain anything from having the death penalty is the government. This is because they determine whether or not the inmate is “curable” from their possible mental sickness based on the crime they commit. Some inmates get out for good behavior or parole, but the rest aren’t given a second chance at life.
Debates over capital punishments have existed for centuries. Each of these debates are solely focused on moral and philosophical concerns about the fate of other human beings. The inability of human beings to reach a consensus over capital punishment involving moral standing has left capital punishment to exist. But perhaps there is a way to punish criminals without taking their lives.
