Through my work with both institutions, I was able to assess the impact of COVID-19 on children's growth and nutrition. I collected and analyzed anthropometric and interview data to draft recommendations for states to reduce health disparities in public schools in select Baltimore counties. In my current position at NORC, I partner with Federal and state government healthcare organizations to assess health disparities in rural areas and predominantly black and brown regions through evidence-based mixed-methods research. My work with NORC has also provided exposure to business development and allowed me to gain valuable insights into the importance of utilizing data analytics tools and the innovation of effective strategies to meet the needs of diverse populations. I am particularly interested in the Epidemiology and Biostatistics program, which aims to equip students with the tools needed to identify underlying factors that contribute to health inequities and disparities throughout the United States Healthcare System. Through the school's hands-on approach to learning and mentorship, I intend to expand my scope of understanding and skills to overcome the challenges that immigrant communities face on a regular basis. My future research aims to integrate social determinants of health and health equity to improve medicare and Medicaid access and extend health equity into the Incarceration system, which aligns with the current work that I am currently doing with the MacArthur Foundation through
