Although Walton’s original vision for the store was relatively modest, the half century since its founding has seen Walmart morph into one of the biggest companies in the world. Today headed by one Doug McMillon, Walmart boasts more than 5000 stores in the United States of America alone and employs more than 1.5 million people. Walmart is undoubtedly an American institution, yet each Walmart store feels like its own little country. Over the years, I have spent countless hours there, and it has had many positive and negative affects. One, I do not have much free time and it has affected my health, two, it has taught me responsibility, and three, I have learned how to work with people. I spend a majority of my time doing work for the store, whether it be butchering, processing animals, or checking out people, so I do not have much free time. When I am not in school, I am usually found processing animals by day, and butchering them by night.
