In this chapter, Publix’s strength, weaknesses, opportunity, and threats will be examined and explored to pinpoint which area of the company needs to be strengthened or improved. Taking into consideration will be the four managerial functions leading, controlling, planning and organizing. Publix is always looking for ways to decrease cost. One way they achieve is the way grocery bags are used at check out. They have taken the initiative to reduce the use of paper and plastic grocery bags (Publix News, 2016).
