As a category 5 storm Maria made its way to its first destination on Thursday, September 18. The first location that hurricane Maria hit was an Island called Dominica. On September 4th Maria hit Puerto Rico again as a category 4 storm. Puerto Rico was making its way of cleaning up from their other storm that hit, and then Maria decided to hit them causing even more destruction to that Island. Maria is the strongest hurricane to hit inside the U.S. Territory in 89 years. It is something that has affected people who have children, grandchildren, newly weds, grandparents. This storm has affected businesses in that area and many people. This article touches me because I can only imagine the suffering people in Florida, Puerto Rico, and Dominica are going through. This article also caught my attention because of the probability of it being the worst hurricane season yet. After reading the article I found something that caught my attention and that was that “Experts say that depends on how you think about the storms. So far this year, we have experienced just 13 named tropical storms, or less than half of the 28 that formed in 2005, the most active season yet. However, what makes this year unusual is that in the 166 years of weather record keeping, the US has never been hit by two Atlantic Category 4 or higher hurricanes in the same year,”(third paragraph from bottom). This caught my attention because of the part where it says that it could be the worst season of hurricanes depending on how you look at it. In my opinion I think that it is one of the worst seasons because it is the most I have ever heard of happening at one time, and because of all the new information I have learned from this articles. This is my opinion on the article that I
