The crucible is a well written play with many shocking moments for the salem puritan community. The puritan community is a very strict place and they were not tolerant of outrageous actions. I agree with Roger Ebert in his statement on line 4 through 6 of his article. “How did the young girls, so carefully protected, slip from their homes? How did they come to be so uninhibited, in a Puritan society, that they could dance naked together.” If the girls were apart of the puritan community why would they decide to go dancing naked in the woods around a cauldron. I feel like this wouldn 't have been apart of their mind set in the puritan mindset. I agree with another one of Roger Ebert 's agusantion, He states in the last paragraph of his
