Writing is a crucial part of our everyday lives that helps us to communicate our thoughts, emotions, and ideas with one another. The three main purposes of writing are expressive, expository, and persuasive. Through the different types of writing, we can venture and upgrade our writing skills while exploring various messages effectively. In this ENC 1101 class, we have implemented all three purposes of writing and learned how to develop well-written essays that meet the five capabilities, including creating different types of writing, well-written essays, volunteering in the writing process, reading comprehension in writing, and producing scholarly or non-scholarly research and document sources using MLA rules.

By writing personal narratives, expository essays, and persuasive essays, we have studied how to connect our thoughts and emotions effectually, convey composite ideas, and persuade our readers to accept a distinct opinion. Additionally, we have met the five competencies, including making different types of writing, emerging well-written essays, contributing to the writing process, reading to answer in writing, and showing scholarly/non-scholarly research and document sources using MLA rules. These capabilities will undoubtedly help us in other courses and in our future endeavors.
Narrative writing is one of the three main purposes of writing. Narrative writing is employed to tell a story or illustrate a sequence of events. The descriptions of narrative writing embrace dramatic accounts, absorbing characters, and a distinct storyline. Nevertheless, in this ENC 1101 class, students were given the chance to prepare narrative writing in the method of a research paper. Expository writing is used to update, explain, or describe something to the reader. The attributes of expository writing involve a clear thesis statement, well-fully developed paragraphs with establishing evidence, and a consistent structure. Throughout this ENC 1101 class, we had several opportunities to practice expository writing through various assignments.
In some instances, we were compelled to examine a text and rationalize how the author used verbal strategies to persuade their audience. Throughout the course, I absorbed how to find and investigate rhetorical strategies such as ethos, logos, and pathos, and how to efficiently integrate them into my own writing to make my arguments more persuasive and logical for readers.
Moreover, this class also provided me with the prospect to advance my grammar skills through writing assignments. By using proper grammar and sentence structure in my writing, I was able to meet the proficiency of contributing to the writing process, which includes grammar and structure
