Reflection I have always been enamored by the beauty of our Earth, the plethora of forms and cultures present, all unique and distinct with so many different ideas and beliefs. My curiosity has always been piqued by the people who have the skill to document all these different experiences and stories from the variety available in this globalized era. I was able to relate to this even before coming to Brisbane’s multicultural environment. I have always been interested by other cultures and languages, one of them being Korean. Aman recommended me to improve my fluency as it would help me communicate better with diverse people. It could also help me find future collaborators. I’m a member of the QUT Asian Pop Society and through their partnership with the Korean Student Association, I was able to attend the 10 week Korean classes that enhanced my linguistic ability. Another aspect I came across after interviewing Aman was that Internships with big companies require previous experience and you can only apply for some places in your 2nd or 3rd years. Aman also mentioned something similar about building your profile through your work and behavior. My Optimism is something I have always prided myself for. Along with personal presentation skills, it’s necessary to have an effective online profile. My first few days in Brisbane were spent, attending information sessions held by QUT like the ‘Welcome to Brisbane’ or the ‘Library 101’. In one such session, I found out how an online profile like linkedin acts as a resume for potential employers. So, I spent the next few days working on my linkedin profile. As another form of online presence I want to make a website for myself, which would have all the works I complete while at university. I have already started up a YouTube channel as a part of KPB101 but I would like to see how far I can take my channel with my own creative content.
