Ever since high school, I knew I wanted to work in the pathology field. I thought I wanted to be a pathologist. I talked to the career counselors at my school and expressed my interest. Impossible Dreams The meaning of the American Dream can be seen as ”A uniquely American vision of the country consisting of three central ideas. The American dream consists of a belief in America as the new Eden- a land of beauty, bounty, and unlimited promise; a feeling of optimism, created by ever expanding opportunity; and a confidence in the triumph of the individual.” Using this definition of the so called “American dream”, it seems to be a great representation of it at first, until you realize it includes everyone as the individual. From the beginning of the Civil war to the end of the War to End All Wars, the American Dream wasn’t possible due to the treatment of the Native Americans, the inequality between women and men, and the false promises given to the immigrants coming to our country in their time of need.

Is the American Dream worth pursuing? I believe the American Dream is worth pursuing because if a person cannot dream of making their life better for themselves and their family, then a person will never better themselves or want to better themselves. Dreams are made to become true. A person can better themselves by getting a good education, a better job, and a better life for their family. Pursuing dreams will make a person better.
The American Dream is Attainable Dreaming of success, a bright future, or even hope? An idea placed in the Declaration of Independence, The American Dream has been a beacon of hope to many; however, does The American Dream really exist? Some can and will argue that it’s dead, and that it isn’t achievable. I believe it’s alive, but it has to be realistic. By being realistic, anything could be possible, but only with the amount of effort put forth.

Gray towers of apartment buildings, all rectangular and identical. Gray piles of coal waste where children climb and play, pretending they are hills. Gray chimney stacks on the horizon, spewing gray smoke into the perpetually gray sky above. Red puddles of blood, splattered on the pavement where protestors were shot down by the police. Red flags of the Soviet oppressors flying overhead.

The first eight years of my life, I spent in India where I was born. Growing up I was constantly reminded by my parents that I needed to make them proud by getting a good job and living a good lifestyle. They told me this because they did not want to see me live a hard life like they did. When I was nine years old, I moved from India to the United States of America. The reason why I moved to America was not because I was living a bad life in India, it was so that I could have a better education and more opportunities in life.
Often immigrants come to America for multiple reasons such as seeking refuge from their home country, to move to live with their families, but most of the time it’s to chase the American dream. The American dream is where everyone lives in the comfort of their home and gain opportunities to succeed and achieve anything if they work hard enough. However, when these immigrants arrive, they often come to find that there aren’t many opportunities available and the American dream isn’t as much of a dream as it is a nightmare. Very often people immigrate into the United States to pursue the American dream.

My plans and goals had turned me into a mature young adult.
The most common and typical American Dream is the dream of being super successful and wealthy. It’s been a common belief for many years that when you come to America you can get rich very easily and do anything you want. Even though most people have a lot better opportunities in America then their home countries, getting rich and famous is still pretty challenging for most people. Their are a few people that actually became rich and famous from coming to America, but its very few compared to those who don’t become rich and famous. Most people who come to the U.S. do not become rich but they do become more wealthy then they were in their home countries because of how poor some of the other countries are compared to America.
