Education has always been very important to me. I am the first to graduate in my family and that alone has been my biggest accomplishment. My educational goals are to receive my Master of Science in Clinical Psychology and then go on to receive my PsyD or PhD in either Forensic Psychology or International Psychology. My goals during this graduate degree program would be to meet with various clients in order to identify their emotional and behavioral problems. By developing a thorough understanding of the foundations and aspects of psychology, I believe I will be able to observe and diagnose potential disorders, offer various treatment plans, help the clients progress, and allow them to define their goals when it comes to moving forward. I would also want to learn how to achieve the skills to offer a high quality and informative assessment in clinical activities. …show more content…

When I think about psychology, I think about the doors it opens for people. It includes anything from business, to art, to medicine. I believe after receiving my Masters and going forth with various internships and other opportunities, I will be able to understand exactly what I would want to receive my next degree in. International Psychology would allow me to be able to connect culture with mental health and understand the impact it has on behavior. It would allow me to counsel globally. I believe the advances of International Psychology programs will help overcome the taboo subject of mental health in foreign countries and allow it to be viewed as normal and acceptable, encouraging loved ones to support and to confront the problem and find a solution. I want to overcome the mental health taboo and bring forth a new understanding on how to deal with anything from addictions to disorders, no matter what cultural
