The field of physical education and sports can pay well, but it can be difficult. Some positions in the sports industry are hard, like doing sports science or sports medicine or even playing in the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, WNBA, NCAA, MLS, CFL, and others such as the soccer leagues in Europe, South America, and other countries of the world. Other jobs include coaches, sports management, sports marketing, athletic trainers, nutritionists, etc. But right now i will be talking about Head Coaches, and Quarterbacks in the National Football League.

They do not play on any of the defensive possessions because they are an offensive player. Whenever they say the word “Hike” the center will snap it to the quarterback and the play will start. The quarterback can either hand the ball off to the runningback or drop back and look for a wide receiver to throw to on a pass play. The quarterback tries to stay in the pocket, but he can run or pass. The quarterback will try to pass the ball or run before he is tackled by one of the defensive lineman, also called defensive ends, and defensive tackles. This is primarily what the quarterback does but he is also the team captain and team leader on most teams in the NFL. Most players will come from colleges and get drafted onto a team. Cam newton was the first overall pick in the NFL draft in 2012. They must be really good at football and at that certain position to even come close to getting drafted. They also have to know the game well, what plays they are running, and what to do if they were to et into trouble while on the field. Ron Rivera, head coach of the Carolina Panthers has a contract that pays him 19.5 million dollars over 3 years. The highest paid coach in the NFL is Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly, both getting paid roughly 8 million dollars a year. The job of a head coach is to call plays, make changes in the lineup, come up with and create the plays, and call the right one when the time is needed in order for the players to execute and win the football game. Head Coaches need to have experience with the game of football, and know it well in order to make the right call. They carry the team on their back and it's tough work because if you don't make the right call or make the wrong decision, your players may not like you and you may find yourself out of the head coaching job pretty quick. A notable head coach is Bill Belichick, head coach of the New England Patriots. He has coached in 10 Super Bowls, and has won 5 of them. The 5 he has won was all under quarterback Tom Brady. The coaches mean a lot to the players, so they aren’t just there to call plays and coach, they are also a friend, mental and physical support, and just someone to come to about working on their game besides the positional
