As we entered the crime scene, we noticed several things that appeared to be out of the ordinary. The first thing that we observed was the position of the body. Mr. Volupides body was perfectly positioned on his back with his legs still on the stairs. We also noticed that his clothing was not out of order in any way and he was wearing a bow tie at the time of his death. Also in his left hand was a drinking glass that was unbroken. My partner noticed in the area surrounding the body, that the carpet and rugs were still neat and undisturbed on the stairs. Along with that, all of the hangings and fixtures on the wall of the stairs were still in place. In the kitchen we found a frying pan with food cooking on the stove. Queenie was really the only person who had been around Arthur that night so we suspected it was her. We have come to this conclusion based on several facts. First of all, if someone has fallen down the stairs, they would not typically be lying in such a perfect position. They would also be lying on their stomach with their head on the stairs rather than feet. Another thing is that their clothing would most likely be messed up in some sort of way whether it’s a shoe falling off or robe getting scrunched. If someone were falling, down the stairs or just falling, they would not still be holding the glass. They would then drop the glass, thus breaking it. After the person had dropped the glass they would probably tend to grab for something to catch himself and stop from falling. If someone had slipped and fallen down the stairs the rug would be messed up. Mr. Volupides was home alone yet he was wearing a bow tie. When people are home alone they would probably not be dressed in a bow tie. Mrs. Volupides said that he was coming down the stairs when he fell. If someone were cooking food they would not be upstairs away from it. Also if someone were coming down the stairs with the railing on the left, they would be holding onto the railing with their left hand and carrying other items in the right
