He goes off to pray and there His disciples come around him and He ask them who do they think He is. Ole Peter gets is right this time by responding “The Christ of God.” I want us, myself included to wrap our hearts and minds around what it takes to be a disciple of Christ. Just as a master baker prepares all the ingredients for the perfect cake. Here is what is takes to make a true disciple of Jesus.
I. We Must Desire After Jesus
A. I want us this morning to look at the word “if’ for a moment. I am no grammarian by any means, but the word struck me as I began to look at this text. We can look at the commands Jesus gave. Ex. Love the Lord God… Go into all the world… Love your neighbor…
B. The word if however, begins a conditional sentence, with two parts. The first part of this is “if any one desires to come after me.” Is the condition. Jesus is giving us a choice. You can either follow Him or do not have to. Like Everything in life, we have a choice to
