In the literature Rabbit Ears by Maggie De Vries it’s shown that the theme of the book is prostitution. “Prostitution is the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment.” In the next paragraphs I will discuss an article and music that also deals with this topic.

The major theme presented in Rabbit Ears is prostitution. Kaya one of the main characters just went through her father passing away from cancer, Kaya dealt with it a different way. Kaya separated herself from her family and went into the prostitution field.”The women is wearing a short skirt, heels and a tank top, with a ratty sweater overtop.”(De Vries 69) The author is implying that this lady is a prostitute. Cher shares some similar ideas with the Maggie De Vries. In her song she mention prostitution a lot. This song goes into detail about prostitution through a prostitute view. “There are many who have laid with me. Then got up and walked away from me. And played around with me, like I was a game. Every night was a one night fling”(Chers) This quote mentions what this girl was doing as a prostitute, she slept with many people and did lots of things just like Kaya. Chers also tells the listeners that the prostitute did not care who she slept with.They never even asked me for my name. No, they never even asked me for my name. Now I found real love! Make no mistake about it. 'Cause now that I feel love. I just can't live without it!(Chers) In this quote Chers mentions that nobody cares about the prostitutes they just do want whatever they paid for and than they leave.
