Why do people get separated by their race and wealth? In to kill a mockingbird, by Harper Lee is mostly about the great depression. It’s telling us that in this book there’s racism. They also called it the southern segregations. People shouldn 't be mean towards to others, because it could lead to serious problems. This could be one of the reasons why they don’t want to get along with African American people. African American people shouldn’t be separated from others.

As Harper Lee sates, “Francis jerked loose and spread into the old kitchen, nigger lover! He yelled” (83). This helps us because Francis is being mean to Atticus only because he’s helping Tom Robison. It’s never too good to be such a cruelty person when you help an African-American. As the grandma states “ Francis, what the hell are you mean?, just what I aid , grandma says it’s enough he lets you all run wild, but now he’s turned out a nigger lover well never walk the streets of Maycomb”(83).
