For this week 's current events I an article read on the Huffington post that talks about the vast wealth gap between Black and White America. According to the post the gap got a bit smaller in the years leading upto the Great Recession but in the past 30 years has exploded as the black and Latino communities have been hit by foreclosures and job cuts. There 's a lot of reasons why there are enormous wealth gaps between minorities and whites in America. The most simple answer is, it takes money to make money. Part of the reason that there 's this enormous gap is because whites have long had higher wages and wealth to pass on from generation to generation.
It is explained that Whites are able to acquire homes earlier in life because they statistically face less obstacles than their Black counterparts. Since whites are able to acquire houses earlier in life than Blacks, they are also able to build home equity for long term home ownership as well as financial support from family members. The wage gap also widens by the fact that African Americans face discrimination from real estate agents who steal them towards black neighborhoods. The wealth gap between Blacks and Whites causes different opportunities for both parties. Wealth allows families to invest in their families futures such as higher education.
Past research indicates that there has been racial and income inequality in Los Angeles for decades. More specifically, there has been racial and income disparities in quality of life and access to resources. Blacks and Latinos have a lower quality of life and access to fewer resources than Whites. The income level of Blacks and Latinos is also lower than that of Whites. The purpose of this research was to investigate how race and income impact such factors as quality of life, access to resources, education, and personal beliefs.

Racial equalities are when people of tied to poverty and tied to race, possibly even more than in other Eastern North Carolina rural communities where blacks and Latinos typically experience higher rates of poverty than their white counterparts. Overall, black and Latino residents of North Carolina are much more likely to live in poverty than white North Carolinians. In the state, 27.7 percent of African-Americans live in poverty, while 34 percent of Latinos do, according to an analysis by the N.C. Budget and Tax Center. Besides, the poverty could succeed to next generation, so if an African-American family is poor, their kids are likely to end up being poor due to lack of good education, bad influence for neighbors, or mindset from family that poverty is what they should have . Therefore, it is difficult for them to keep positive association with the culture and custom. Frankly, I could not find a good solution to help them keep positive as long as the discrimination sill there. However, I have some advises that may not fully solve these problems, but I think it will help. To reduce the poverty, they have to be educated and get a diploma from a college or a certificate of any skills because most of the African-American don't have a decent job that could give them a better wage, and having a diploma or diploma could increase their chance to get a better job with better wage.
Through this reading and the documentary movie that we have watched, it is not hard to figure out how both external and internal factors that formed his personalities. The external factor definitely took a vital part of this formation, since the environment back into that time was hard for African American musicians to gain their rights, and there were so many inequalities existed in the society. It affected his personality for sure by having those experiences. Inequality has been in existence even before the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964. Slavery has been a result of inequality and even Obama has won office due to inequality. Obama is the first African American president and the majority of African Americans voted for him, which led to his presidential win. Although, Obama has done many wrongdoings like providing Iraq with military grade weapons, but he is still treated fairly by the House of Representatives. If the house had not believed in equality, then Obama would be able to cause The United States to plunder.
Income Inequality Income Inequality or “wage gap” is a big topic for freedom fighters and liberals for the simple fact that it isn’t equal for everyone. Because the wage gap is so prominent it's one of the biggest “facts” that discrimination is still apart of everyday American society. The wage gap from these radical interest groups think the economy is get a dollar take a dollar instead of a free flow economy. This misguided idea of the economy is absolutely not true and isn’t at the fault of the Government, but the people.
African Americans have been oppressed for over 340 years, by the white community. African Americans have fought endlessly for their rights to give them justice, but the Clergy believe it to be “unwise and untimely” (P.3). They feel the need to tell African Americans to wait, not considering how harmful it is to them. MLk responds to the Clergymen, by giving reasons on why they can’t wait to have equality and justice. The African Americans have been mistreated by white people for years, and have witnessed first hand the brutality that continues to plague them, “when you have seen hate-filled policemen curse,kick,brutalize, and even kill your black brothers and sisters” (P.10).
