In today’s society there’s many race arose “Black Lives Matter.” There is many cases where there has been “Police Brutality.” There has been more effect on the black community and I believe people focus too much on race and not enough on how to better the police enforcement. Police officers should be trained and displaced. We can’t label all police officers as bad ones and all black men as criminals.
The Columbian exchange was a large exchange of culture, goods and ideas between the new and old world. In 1942 Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue, and were thought to be the first Europeans to make landfall in the Americas. Exchanges lasted throughout the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries sometimes referred to as the years of expansion and discovery. Many different things were exchanged in the period such as diseases animals and plants, causing many different reactions and changes in history and the new and old world. Plants were a large part of this exchange, these plants changed both the economy and the culture of the New Worlds.

She makes the statement that a hiring manager is more likely to interview someone whose name on a resume says “John” over someone named “Jamal” even though they have the same qualifications. But eight years ago, America elected a black President, providing the evidence that if racism was truly a problem we never would have allowed an African American to run our country over his opponent, whom was a white male with the same qualifications.
Racism is an ongoing issue which had been taking place for centuries. Racism can take various forms, direct, indirect, individual or institutional. Institutional racism however, has been questioned frequently recently in light of criminal justice system, especially and more noticeably in the US now, where many believe the police is treating/handling black people unfairly comparing to other ethnic groups. According to Macpherson (1999) institutional racism is where organisation does not provide appropriate service due to someone’s colour, culture or ethnic origin, and can take form of racial discrimination in forms of attitudes, behaviours and processes. NBC releases video of a high school student being body slammed by a police officer. The video has drawn a lot of attention from the media and the districts Black Parents Association. This particular video shows white officer Ben Fields asking a black female student to go to the discipline office, the female student refuses to listen then is arrested for the actions she choose. The video draws so much attention because of race, it makes you wonder if the student was white would this video be criticized as it was.
And recently, African American leaders such as Al Sharpton have been feeding the black community with ridiculous claims that they are being targeted by officers. This propaganda has lead to an increase in officers being shot, the day I happened to be writing this, an officer with kids was shot and killed by a black man. In conclusion, the idea of racial profiling and the issues on racism in today’s society calls attention to sustain peace and ethnic equality within communities all across the nation and around the world. It is important to acknowledge that the main solution to change the issues on racial profiling and racism is among the duties of government authorities, law enforcement officials, and the people of a nation. Everyone, of any race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or authority needs to understand that our voices and actions are capable of fixing the issues of racial injustice into a more fair environment to all people of color. Therefore, it is up to our knowledge and actions to help people understand that the solution to obtain racial equality
In recent years, a spotlight has been placed on innocent black men being murdered by law enforcement through news media. In fact, many times these cases have been spoken about as, “police brutality”, which almost lessens the crisis of black lives that were lost. Whether through beatings or headlocks, the fact remains that black citizens have been taken by law enforcement with no legal repercussions. Referring back to Figure 1, you can see that among the other ethnicities, African Americans over the age of 25 have been targeted the most starting from 1968 and now the targeting has been spread out to other ethnicities but a majority of the police brutality cases are involving African American males. From looking at Figure 1, one can see that the African American community has been affected the most with police killings since 1968 up unto now. Racism is an evil act that can destroy a society. The U.S is a nation of immigrants and, as such, it is a diverse society where racism has no place. In the past few years police officers in America have been discriminating against the black community. Police officers are meant to protect the public, not cause further damage and stress. They use over excessive force towards black people, target minorities and abuse their power.
