Many kids fail to understand the real meaning of racism within their youth. As they grow and get a better understanding of their surroundings and what's happening they learn about racism. Racism is an issue/ongoing problem that needs to be addressed because it's injurious and neglectful. This leads many children to come to their own conclusion of what racism is and that isn't always good. Yes, as children grow and their minds evolve they will get better concepts on what racism is but if they aren't taught what it is earlier on they can stick with their own concept of racism that may not be positive.
