Black Boy Research Paper Racism. Its an issue that the world has been struggling with for hundreds of years. Racism has poisoned our society and has brought a strain upon many lives. Richard Wright was one of those who were affected by racism. In his autobiography Black Boy, Wright describes growing up and living in the south in the mid 1900s and all the conflicts h had to face. Wright was born after the civil war but before the civil rights movement. If Wright were writing and autobiography titled Black Boy, Today in 2017, about a black boy growing up in the United States, he would write about the faults in the education system, police brutality towards black people, and about former president Obama becoming the first black president. Obama was elected president on January 20, 2005. According to the article What has Obama done, by Kimberly Amadeo, being the first African American President was a huge step in equality and moving forward for African Americans.Obama inspired many African Americans by showing they that anything is possible no matter what race you are, and anyone can exceed the expectations wrongfully set by society. In office, According to the article President Obama’s top 50 accomplishments, by the Washington monthly ,Obama has made many achievements for the US, some examples include passing healthcare reform, passing the wall street reform, turning around US auto industry, recapitalizing banks, Improving America’s image abroad, and much more.
