Racism and segregation are two different but similar things. Racism is an individual or group action to discriminate or antagonize someone because of their race. The one being racist believes that their own race is superior over the other. Segregation is setting apart someone or something. Segregation is a system that is statewide enforced. In both the movie we watched, and the short story we read, there was racism and segregation. Glory Road and The Gold Cadillac have characters that struggle with having to face racism and segregation. In both stories, the black characters had assumptions made about them. In The Gold Cadillac, when they were heading South, they were pulled over because they were a black family in a gold car.
