Performance management (PM) is a topic, which is often discussed but rarely defined. Ronald describes PM as process of quantifying action, where measurement is the process of quantification and action leads to performance. Performance management plays an important role in ensuring an organization’s success and its subsequent benefits to the sponsoring organization and business success. Performance management is a process by which an organization monitors important aspects of its programs, systems, and care processes. Typically, performance is measured and compared to organizational goals and objectives.
