Personal Statement
Radford University Masters of Art in Strategic Communication program If someone were to have asked me three years ago, “Tylisia, what are your life plans?”, being a soon-to-be undergraduate communications studies alumna at Radford University and an applicant for graduate school would seem like an unreachable goal. Since attending Radford, my perception of education, leadership and the need for cognitive and professional challenges has changed drastically. Radford University’s Strategic Communication Master’s Program will provide the support, challenges, and fundamental learning that will shape me into the young professional I aspire to be.
I started Radford University in August of 2014. Having obtained college credit in my high school courses, I came in classified as a sophomore. As this had its benefits, planning my future faster than my peers became frustrating at times. I always knew the School …show more content…

I consider myself an innovative creative that has a combined passion for communications, marketing, and advertising. I love solving complex problems in group-based and individual settings. I am a right-brained thinker but enjoy the challenge of creatively solving an analytical problem. Intercultural communication has been an increasing interest of mine, along with creating marketing content and visual presentations, public speaking and researching current news and trends.
My dream path of success would be completing my graduate degree from Radford University. Following, being a corporate strategic communicator for an advertising and marketing firm would be my start-up career. After obtaining years of work experience, I would aspire to become a director of communications for a B-2-C organization. Following the end of my career after obtaining my Ph.D., becoming a college-level educator, using innovative, creative and hands-on methods of
