Like many people, I’ve spent the last couple years trying to decide what it is I want to do with my life. After years of contemplating and changing my mind a few times, I finally decided that I wanted to do something in the medical field. I made this decision based on many things. First, I wanted a job that would be around for a long time, and one that is in a booming industry, thus hopefully making it easier to achieve employment. Secondly, there was the fact that, I like many people out there wanted to do something that was helpful. After taking all this into consideration and looking at lists of jobs, along with descriptions, I have decided that I want to be a radiology technologist. The plan as of now is to complete the program within two years and then continue my education by getting the certifications needed for CT and MRI. There are many reason that I want to attend the program here at VWCC. First, the expense to attend this school is less than many of the other colleges that I could be attending. I have family members that have come out of college with $80,000 + worth of college loan debt, and that’s just for a four-year degree. Me however I’m almost done with my third year and when I’m done I will have completed five years, my debt will be roughly $25,000 give or take a little. But the money is not the only reason that I want to continue my education here at VWCC. There is also the fact that while going here I can live at home and commute vs moving somewhere and having that added expense. The college is only 35 minutes away from my house which I currently reside. Also, another thing that I like is the fact that while attending VWCC I can still manage to work some. Of course, being in a program will mean that I will need to give up my full-time status at work to make time for my studies, but at least I can still work a few days a
