During much of the mid -1900s the African American experience was not great. Although African Americans were free down South, they treated African Americans as if they were barely a person. Life out in the South for blacks had rules such as white only bathrooms, blacks not being allowed in restaurants, blacks not being allowed certain job positions and segregated schools. Every day, African Americans had to fight for there life and equality.

Kenny Chesney joined the Country Music Association to make a hefty donation to Tennessee wildfire victims. The country music superstar and the CMA both made $250,000 donations bringing the total to $500,000 to help the devastated communities in his home state. Everyone has encountered this proverbial saying at one point in time or at least some alteration of it such as "follow your heart," or "trust your gut," but doing the "right" thing, whatever it may be, has always been easier said than done. Power, a popular TV series produced by Curtis Jackson, more commonly known as 50 Cent, reveals this in a complex storyline that outlines what many people struggle with, doing what they perceive to be morally good or justified or doing something else because they are being influenced by institutional restraints and/or power dynamics. The consequences and perils of power, ranging from institutions to people themselves, are told in a captivating and meaningful story centered around the
As the Roman poet Horace once said, "adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant." In other words, he believed that challenges are beneficial because they bring out talents that would have stayed hidden otherwise. He thought that adversity would force a person to use their unknown talents out of desperation. Some argue that his theory is irrelevant and that a person 's skills will develop just as well without adversity if they have the capacity, but I believe that hardships will evoke and improve on their dormant talents.
I used to hate greasers. Especially Pony’s gang after they picked up Cherry and Marcia. Bob and I were so mad. I mean they were no-hopers, why would they think they have the right to have soc girls. They were seen as juvenile delinquents by society, people who should be feared and were reckless.
I have many pet peeves in my life, which I always try to avoid. To start, my first pet peeve is when people gulp water. It is extremely loud and disturbing when you are having a nice meal, and the person next to you decides to drink water resembling the noises of a horse. Or when you’re in the middle of a conversation, and the gulping of water interrupts your discussion. Next, a pet peeve of mine is not having a clean room.
Surely we can see there being many disadvantages with acting impulsively such as Macbeth did when he murdered Macduff’s family and servants but there are also many advantages to acting impulsively as well. When we as humans act impulsively we act solely based on our truest emotions and deepest beliefs. The reason I say this is because if we always calculate every action we take we may not make the proper decision in time, an example of such would be when the twenty four year old marine known as Kyle Carpenter jumped on a live grenade to protect his colleague and fellow patriot without thinking about the possible dangers of losing limbs or even his life. Luckily they both survived, but without this impulsive act of courage to save someone else’s
