Railroads are still a big thing in today’s world and very important to be cautious around them as they can kill someone as fast as a blink of an eye. That’s why learning to be safe around railroad tracks is such a big deal, especially when barely starting to drive. There is even laws to prevent deaths from happening. As it is illegal to park closer than 50 feet from the railroad track, a person will get a fine it’s that serious. And if you have to stop at a railroad crossing, the person must be 15 to 50 feet away from the nearest trail. The sad thing is that there is becoming more drivers as the years go on, and so there’s more drivers there is also more people dying at railroad crossings. Especially if it’s nighttime and you're passing a railroad crossing, that’s actually the time of day where you need to be more precaution since you might not see the trains lights or see the train if you not close enough. Even if you don’t live in a city where there isn’t railroad crossing, it’s still smart to know how to cross them safely because sometime in your life you’ll some traveling somewhere. And when crossing don’t try to shift gears to go faster, things like that because your car could stall and end up being stuck. If that situation were to ever happen then you must get out of the car as fast as you can just in case that there’s a train nearby. It’s better to still be alive and buy a new car rather than to die with your car. As some nevers to do at railroad crossings would be to never race with the train. To try to beat it by going faster, or go around the gates, or misjudge the distance and speed of the train which happens often actually.
