Imagine you were watching the news and you heard the rainforest population was decreasing. You were thinking how you could save the rainforest but you had no thoughts. In this essay I will provide information about the rainforest, how it’s being endangered, the importance of the organisms in this ecosystem, and how we can help it. I got the information from a very fantastic book called Rain Forest Food Chains by Heidi Moore. Did you know that a ¼ of ingredients in modern medicines come from the rainforest plants. The rainforest is very important to us. The organisms that live in the rainforest are very important. One important organism is a producer. In the text it said producers are important because they make food for humans and animals. This makes me think if there were no producers we wouldn’t have food or we will die. Another important organism is a primary consumer. Primary consumers feed on producers or other consumers. From this I can conclude if there were no producers primary consumers would die and then the whole food chain would be messed …show more content…

Humans are harming the rainforest. Now I am going to explain how humans are harming the rainforest. In the text it said that humans are burning areas of the rainforest. This makes me think animals that are living in the rainforest could be endangered their habitat is being destroyed. On page 35 I read that humans are clear cutting, which means cutting down trees. After reading this I know if there were not that many trees we would have less oxygen. A line in the text that proves how humans are harming the rainforest is that hunters are hunting animals. Clearly this means animal that live in the rainforest could become extinct. In the text it said that mining wastes pollutes the air and water. This makes me think the pollution could spread and then when it rains there is going to be acid rain, so the acid could harm plants and animals. These are the facts on how humans are destroying the
