It is another day of work, Mr. Mac goes home with a sad face. He has been working overtime, over 50 hours per week, but his payment stays the same. He has a low wage at his workplace, even though he is a hard worker. His family is in poverty, the children can not eat a lot of food. When there is a field trip at school, they have to pay money, but his kids could never go, because of his wages. There are also a lot of families in his country, who couldn’t feed their children every day, no matter how hard they work. Why? Because the minimum wage in the U.S is low. The businesses can make more make more money from lowering the pay of the worker, but it is what is causing this problem in the U.S. The minimum wage in the U.S should be raised because it can help the government pay less to the worker, it can help people get out of poverty, and it also can secure a lot of children.

Lots of children are hungry everyday in the U.S. They just don’t have anything to eat, it’s not because of their parent won’t let them, but because their parent couldn’t afford it. Some workers might have a large family, and with a low wage from their company they cannot feed them. That’s why lots of children are in hope today. They just hope for a better life. In fact: “Parents with two children working full time at the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour currently earn $4,700 below the poverty level.” (Olivia 1) Some family is a little better than that, they can feed their family, but it’s because that the children also going to work to help the family. No education, it will affect their future, but raising the worker’s wage will help, even just a little bit.
