Stephen King once said, “Books and movies are like apples and oranges. They both are fruit, but taste completely different.” Stephen King is an American author of horror, supernatural fiction, suspense, science fiction, and fantasy. Movies and books have different relationships, one could have more detail than the other one. However, they could also be the same, the plot could be the same. After watching A Raisin In The Sun we started to compare lines and character traits from the movie and the book. Without question, the movie created a more advanced version of the book. This might make the readers think that the movie is a 100% better then the book.
One of the differences in the movie and the book is racism. Racism is in both the book and the movie A Raisin In The Sun. However, the difference is represented stronger in the movie. For example, in the beginning of the movie there is a cop that gave Walter and Bobo a ticket when he should not have because it was a stupid reason to do that. Beneath is another one of the characters in this movie and book, In the same way, Beneath is more calm in the movie but in the book she has some more comebacks and more to say to people that she talks to or talks about. For example, in the book when Beneatha and Walter get in fights, he would say something like, “you're ugly” then she would just be like “well you're uglier.” Than in the movie she would not say something like that she just like ignores it. It is more like she stands up for herself more in the book then the movie. Also, Beneatha talks to George and expresses her feeling to him and in the book she says it to Asagai. This is a little strange to me because in the book her and Asagai are really close, like a lot more the her and George, and you would think that they would have the same relationship in the
