Within the United States, we the people, have a set a set of laws and a moral law code that everyone must follow. However, while many people feel that some laws should be taken out of our society, others feel that more should be added.
In my personal opinion, some laws that I would like seeing being added to society is the raising of the age for driving, and purchase of alcohol. One reason I support raising the age for obtaining a driver’s license, is because the older a person is, the more developed their driving skills are. Most people who start driving at a young age, such as the age of 16, are usually not mature enough to handle driving publicly. Increasing the age to obtain a license would also make our streets safer, since most people would properly learn how to drive in their years leading up to getting their driver’s license. Even though some people may argue that 18 is an appropriate age to start driving, most people are not prepared at this age. Another law that should be added is raising the age for purchasing alcohol. Currently, the age at which a person can purchase alcohol is 21. Personally, I think the age limit should be raised to 25. Most people who purchase alcohol at the age of 21, are immature and irresponsible. The main reason why I believe the drinking age should be raised is because it would create safer environments, and could also decrease the amount of DUI’s.
