In the novel “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding the ultimate one responsible for the destruction of the island is Jack. In the novel Golding has wrote about how a group of british boys crashed on a plane and landed on a island where there are no adults, just little british boys stranded on a island .In the beginning one of the boys Ralph was the responsible leader where he knew what to do an how to manage. But of course there was this one cureles jealous boy that wanted to be a leader, the one in charge. Because of how ruthless and savage Jack was he took the fear that the boys had within them and used it against them to make them join his tribe which started the destruction of the island.
Ralph and Jack at first started as friends but as time went on and feelings changed, they began to despise and envy each other over greed and power which soon destroyed themselves and later the entire island. Both of them wanted power but they each had different views of handling it when it was given to them. Neither knew what to do in their situations of power so their "empires" collided and crumbled quickly. Ralph has a representation of a responsible leader and an aura of civilization and tranquility. He organizes assemblies, creates rules, and quickly matures on the island by expressively talking about responsibility and leadership.
Ralph is immediately admired as a leader. Everyone but Jack and his friends vote for Ralph over Jack. Those that voted for Ralph did so because of all his proven leadership qualities. He is confident, anything but shy, strong, and he is clear that he will do anything to get them rescued including doing a lot of the dirty work himself such as hunting the beast and building all of the shelters.
Simon’s Transition from Quiet Boy to the Establishment of Empathy In William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, Simon’s transition from laconic youth to the short-lived establishment of empathy creates the subtle upending of the island’s makeshift civilization. Simon is repeatedly shown to be the only boy to show compassion and direct kindness towards anyone else. The shy boy does this at personal risk to himself. The most evident of these instances is in Chapter Four after the hunters have retrieved a pig and Jack is attempting to intimidate Piggy by withholding his share.
“The boys round Simon giggled, and he stood up, laughing a little. Now that the pallor of his faint was over, he was a skinny, vivid little boy, with a glance coming up from under a hut of straight hair that hung down, black and coarse” (Golding 24). Simon is described as a “skinny, vivid little boy.” He has thick black hair as well as bright eyes, characteristics for a Christ-like figure.
Simon grew up on the main land till he reached the age of 13. It was then he as enrolled into Redleaves Academy. All he wanted to do was to be a good dad, Simon didn't care about what field to go to. He just wanted to become a husband and dad to a loving family. This made him a little too forward with the ladies and they tend to push him away.

Bullies can be found anywhere in the world. They victimize, torture, and threaten others for their own benefit. Every bully has a weakness they attempt to conceal, but it is never truly hidden. This insecurity leads them to act out against seemingly inferior people to achieve a false sense of strength and security. The deep emotional struggle bullies face is evident in Lord of the Flies by William Golding.
Good Leader? Becoming a leader is a rough goal to accomplish especially in your young years, When you know you have to step up and become the adult in your life because you know it's the only way you'll be able to keep moving forward. To be a leader you need to be open for change just like Ralph when he made the decision of voting for a leader in the story to attain a specific goal of building the island into a big civilization. Ralph wasn't the smartest or strongest or smartest from all the boys and he took the initiative of helping the other schoolboys who were afraid and had no idea what to do. In Lord Of The Flies a book by William Golding, he introduces the audience about the character Simon being nice and his positivity to helping others. Initially, the author uses the characters and setting as symbols to help create a theme. It stated “Simon found for them the fruit they could not reach, pulled off the choicest from up in the foliage, passed them back down to the endless, out stretched hands” (Golding 56). With Golding stating how short the kids were, they had always been eating the bad fruit. When Simon had noticed he was able to reach the good fruit down so it would make them less sick.
Simon is a character who exemplifies being realistic and mature, by showing these traits Simon separates himself from the rest of the boys on the island. The littleuns are helpless kids on the island who need to be looked after and taken care of, Simon realizes this and decides to be a contributor to the island. Simon cared more for others and the goodness of the island than himself, “Simon found for them the fruit they could not reach” to satisfy their hunger (Golding 46). The island has a limited food supply and instead of taking the fruit for himself he gives it out for the benefit of others. Jack gives piggy hate for no other reason than him being fat and talking differently than the other boys.
Simon was skinny and had black hair. Simon was a loner who often experienced fainting spells. He always wander into the jungle to think by himself. He always sees beyond the surface of things, so he often thinking alone and be a loner. The other boys were indifferent towards Simon because he was not extremely social (page 38, no one be close to Simon).
