Ralph Waldo Emerson a journalist, poet and philosopher during the nineteenth century. Emerson talked about the importance of learning from nature, but he spent much of his career giving lectures to other educated people. He helped find the Transcendental Club in 1836 along with Henry Hedge, Ralph Waldo Emerson, George Ripley, and George Putnam. Therefore, Emerson does not into fit in to be called as a hypocrite because, he talks from his own experience, he talks about transcendentalism and he wanted people to change from the old thoughts to the new changes of life wherein he is being selfless by sharing his knowledge with the people to bring out the awareness. According to Emerson, “The American Scholar” he says that the first influence on the mind is that of nature and god is not unknown because they can have a strong connection with nature. Therefore, people were made clear that they should not stay in the area of not learning new and just looking at the scholars. As a Transcendentalist he thinks that the books are not challenged and people tend to take it as sacred therefore, through his lectures he is trying to influence people that they should move from their zone and try to challenge the notion that were put in the place. Emerson’s early lectures were often on the personal nature of spirituality and that nature helps in find new ideas than accepting the ideas that has already been discovered. According to Emerson, “Nature” (1836), said that people should be taking the pleasure from the nature with temperance and the nature shows the best time of the person. For instance, William Wordsworth is filled with the memories that he once had as a child when he went back to the place Tintern Abbey thus, showing the people that nature is important and through their writing we tend to know what they felt.
