Ned Kelly Essay Ned Kelly was a famous bushranger in Australia in the 1880s. Much evidence has shown that Ned was an innocent victim who was separated by unfair policemen and lived in extremely poor conditions. Still, many people regard him as a villain, although this is surely a narrow point of view. To begin with, Ned Kelly has no male role models. In addition, due to their poverty, Ned Kelly had to drop out of school. Finally, Ned Kelly was a guiltless and truthful man who was accused of crimes he did not commit. Ned Kelly grew up living a life of poverty. His family lived in unpleasant conditions, and as a result, they couldn’t own land. The government created an opportunity for families who couldn’t afford to buy land, it was called “selection”. A family would select a land in a particular area and take care of the land while paying rent on it. After seven years, the land would become theirs.
